Rummynose Tetra
Rummynose Tetra
Rummy Nose Tetra (Hemigrammus rhodostomus) is a tetra species with a long semi-transparent body, a black and white striped tailfin, and a distinct red face.
This species of fish lives for 5 years on average, but can live up to 8 years in ideal conditions. They prefer temperatures in the high 70's to low 80's. Because these fish are a shoaling species, they should be kept in groups of at least 3 (but they do better in larger groups). These animals will reach up to 2.5 inches in length and will need at least 20 gallons of water to live in.
These animals are very peaceful and will comfortably live with any peaceful community fish species. These fish should not live with any semi-aggressive species, as they get stressed extremely easily when chased.
