Alternanthera reineckii 'Rosanervig

A popular midground aquarium stem plant known for its striking pink-to-red leaves and distinct light-colored or white-pink veins(rosanervig translates roughly to "rose-veined"). It is a variegated mutation of standard Alternanthera reineckii, staying more compact and shorter than traditional varieties.

• Lighting: Medium to high light is needed to bring out the bright pink and red tones; low light causes the leaves to fade into dull burgundy or green.
• CO2 and Fertilization: CO2 injection and a nutrient-rich substrate (like aquasoil) greatly improve color intensity, growth speed, and compactness, though opinions on running it in low-tech setups vary.
• Growth & Algae: It is a moderate-to-slow grower and can be prone to algae if water parameters and nutrients are out of balance.
•  Cut the top shoot and plant it directly into the substrate to encourage side-branching from the main stem.
