Anubias barteri var. glabra 'Minima' is the specific, compact sub-variety of Anubias glabra. While standard glabra (lanceolata) can reach taller midground proportions, the 'Minima' cultivar stays noticeably shorter and narrower, making it a perfect fit for smaller nano tanks and tight spaces where a sleek, sword-like leaf texture is needed.
Aquarium Requirements
- Lighting: Low to moderate. Direct, high-intensity lighting will quickly blanket its slow-growing leaves in stubborn green spot algae. Position it under the shade of taller background plants if your lighting is strong.
- Water Parameters: Extremely adaptable. It thrives in temperatures between 22°C and 28°C (72°F to 82°F) and a pH range of 6.0 to 7.5.
- Supplements: CO2 is entirely optional. Because it feeds directly from the water column, an occasional dose of liquid all-in-one fertilizer keeps its foliage vibrant.
- Fauna Safety: Highly recommended for shrimp tanks as a grazing pasture. Its leathery leaves are also completely cichlid- and goldfish-proof.
