Anubias congensis is a tough, low-maintenance, and slow-growing aquatic plant from Africa, ideal for beginners and low-tech tanks. It features long, dark green, spade-shaped leaves, growing best when attached to driftwood or rocks, with a size range of 3–12 inches. It thrives in low-to-medium light and, due to its hardy, thick leaves, it is suitable for aquariums with herbivorous fish.

This video shows the characteristics and, specifically, the hardiness of the Anubias Congensis plant:
Key Care Guidelines:
  • Light: Low to medium; excessive light causes algae growth.
  • Water Parameters: Temperature 72°–82°F (22°–28°C), pH 6.0–8.0.
  • Placement: Best attached to hardscape; do not bury the rhizome.
  • Propagation: Divide the rhizome.
  • Compatibility: Excellent for community tanks and with cichlids.
