Microsorum Pteropus Soft Leaf

Microsorum pteropus 'Soft Leaf' (widely known as Soft Leaf Java Fern or Microsorum pteropus var. soft) is a graceful, highly elegant cultivated variety of the classic Java Fern. It is highly prized by aquascapers for its thinner, more delicate, and gently arching fronds, which possess an exceptionally gentle texture and a lighter, more flowing movement in the water column compared to the rigid leaves of the standard species.

• Lighting: Low to moderate. While it is incredibly adaptable, intense direct lighting can burn or melt the delicate leaf tips, or prompt stubborn green spot algae to form on the slow-growing foliage.
• Water Flow: Prefers areas with continuous water circulation. Good flow keeps the fronds clean and ensures uniform nutrient delivery since it draws food straight from the water column rather than a root system.
• Water Parameters: Highly forgiving. Thrives in temperatures ranging from 22°C to 28°C (72°F to 82°F) and a pH range between 6.0 and 7.5.
