Pygmy Corydoras (Corydoras pygmaeus), also known as the pygmy catfish, is a tropical freshwater fish. It belongs to the subfamily Corydoradinae within the family Callichthyidae.  These tiny fish are native to South America.


  •  Appearance: Pygmy Cory Catfish have a unique teardrop-shaped body with a large head. They sport a thick black stripe running from their snout to their caudal fin, along with a metallic silvery sheen.  Their bellies are white and males and females looking practically identical expect the females are generally larger. 
  •  Size: These fish are truly pint-sized, with an average length of about 1" Rarely they may grow up to 1.5" with excellent care.  
  • Lifespan - approx 3 years on average.
